Forge de Laguiole knives are truly and by far of the highest quality offered in the market today. Additionally, each one of these masterpieces is entirely handmade by the same craftsman to ensure pride in the completed piece. The Forge de Laguiole workshop is located in the tiny village of Laguiole, France - Pop. 1300 - where the Laguiole knife first appeared in the early 1800s.

Bolsters & Liners: 100% stainless steel.

Handle Material: Karelian Birch. This birch is not a particular species, but is rather a praised grain figure that is most commonly seen in Downy Birch and Silver Birch. (Harvested in Finland).

As with most wood handle knives, this set is not dishwasher safe.
